Instagram is an awesome social media that allows sharing instant moments without actually spending a great amount of time describing them; image VS thousands of words.
As I like to grab the phone to film and capture short moments of my day to day life, I thought it might be an occasion to explore and share the range of services that allow taking virtual images the extra mile, especially approaching this end of year holiday season.
Quick idea list for Xmas. You’re welcome.
I’ll kick off the selection of services with my personal best, aka the ones I got to try/ am trying, then continue with other interesting, and to be tested, solutions…
For further descriptions, keep in mind you need to have/grant access to your or the Instagram account you want to extract the photos from!
Prinstagram is a service made and nurtured by Social Print Studio, a no hassle photo printing company which is a service that offers “the best prints × honest pricing × satisfaction guaranteed”.
And, as for my experience, it was just that. As soon as your order is through you receive a confirmation email which invites you to follow up and comment you order. I was a little tight on schedule so I had the chance to go a little further in testing the customer relationship management by sending an email to get an estimation of shipping and delivery time which was answered directly and transparently explaining the steps of sending items.
Stickygram was inspired by experimenting ways of creating physical objects from digital content.
“Bringing Instagram into the real world turned out to be an idea that excited people”
And the service provides just that…
They concentrate mainly on magnets and iPhone and iPad covers which they seem to want to upgrade anytime soon!
I have a set of magnets on my oven and we have had the occasion to treat a few of our clients and ourselves at Voice.
I’ll also enjoy following their Instagram account as they regularly post “StickyGram Spotting” which are great association between magnets and IRL views, produced by clients themselves for punctual city #stickygramtheworld contests!
Origrami seems to be dedicated to create an experience of design, from the quality of the Polaroid style square prints to the free premium photo older. Cherry on the cake is the fact you can customize the back of your pictures with multiple themes allowing you to even print out the first comment published on your photo! As I’m looking to create a photo montage of gathered Instagram pictures, I’ve order mine for Xmas!
Foxgram is certainly a service I’ll test as it seems to be incredibly affordable! It focuses on two models of print and one of magnets.
The shipping kicks off at 1,25$ and, according to the format you have chosen, a price per selected photo will be accumulated.
InstaThis allows you to upload your own photos or connects with your Instagram account in order to create prints on wood, aluminium, or on coasters for your space.
Advantage of InstaThis is the option of uploading photos from outside Instagram app!
Focused on increasing the beverage experience Coastermatic concentrates on coasters’ and coffee lids for to-go cups which allows this web-service to answer to a very niche market!
Although they seem to want to broaden their activity, they show support to other initiatives that allow bringing our virtual visual to life. One for fair play!
Boomfs are simply and plainly your Instagram photos on marshmallows! It’s a UK service which promises to deliver nine “instamarshmallows” within maximum 2 weeks from Europe to US and Canada.
Each 4cm by 4cm bite-sized Instagram photo candy is said to be eaten best before 6 months after delivery. Mint Digital, as for Stickygram, has taken part into this delicious adventure!
Please note that they have to hold all existing orders until Friday 6th Dec.
Take care to follow their advice in order to get the best experience out of printing out relatively simple images with good contrast!
Hope this helps you fill up yours and your loved ones stockings!
